Liverpool have made Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni a target to reinforce their defense during the summer transfer window.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Reds have been looking at the 23-year-old as a potential signing ahead of next season in addition to his teammate Nicolo Barella.

Liverpool are keen to strengthen significantly during the upcoming summer transfer window, with the team’s recent 5-2 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League only highlighting the extent to which new signings are needed to add quality all over the pitch.

The backline was exposed in the loss to the Merengues, and according to the Gazzetta, Bastoni is among the players who the Premier League giants are considering as a possible target to strengthen in the summer.

Bastoni’s current contract with Inter is set to run out at the end of June 2024, but the Nerazzurri are looking to extend the former Atalanta defender’s deal, and it remains to be seen how he would respond to any offers from Liverpool.
