Inter could be ready to move midfielder Marcelo Brozovic on at the end of the season after the excellent form of Hakan Calhanoglu in a deep-lying role.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Turkey international has shone in a deeper role than his usual position this season, as he filled the gap left by a lengthy injury to Brozovic before the World Cup, and this could have longer term ramifications for both players.

With Brozovic earning €6.5 million per season and attracting interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Chelsea, Inter are minded to cash in on him and focus their attention on Calhanoglu.

The former AC Milan midfielder is close to agreeing a new contract with the Nerazzurri and was named man of the match against Porto in midweek playing in Brozovic’s usual role.

This has led Inter to consider using Calhanoglu there permanently and building the midfield around him instead, whilst ending Brozovic’s nine-year stint at the club in the summer.
