Inter’s recent upturn in fortunes has seen the club move up UEFA’s Coefficient rankings and they are hoping to break into tier two for future Champions League draws.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the latest club rankings have been announced in Europe and Inter find themselves moving up three places to 12th spot, above Roma, Atletico Madrid, and RB Leipzig.

The Nerazzurri are kept out of the top 10 by Borussia Dortmund and Ajax, but they are boosted by a regular return to the Champions League, and their run to the Europa League final in 2020.

Indeed, Inter are the second highest ranked team in Serie A, with only Juventus ahead of them, whilst Napoli are in 21st, Atalanta come in at 28th, and AC Milan are 36th.

It is hoped that the Nerazzurri will continue this trajectory with a good run in the Champions League this season and break into the second tier of clubs.

This would see them put into Pot 2 of future Champions League group stage draws and avoid being pitted against the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona, as happened this season.
