Inter director Piero Ausilio is looking to make the most of a strong working relationship with Red Bull Salzburg and secure some of their brightest talents this summer.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, Ausilio attended Thursday’s Europa League tie between Roma and Salzburg at the Stadio Olimpico to monitor forward Noah Okafor, who is valued at €35 million and is being courted by a host of top European clubs.

Ausilio has a positive relationship with Salzburg counterpart Mario Gomez and is hoping to reach an agreement with the former Germany international to secure a favourable deal for Okafor, as well as Danish midfielder Maurits Kjaergaard.

His friendship with Gomez was developed in November when Salzburg were in town for a Champions League match against AC Milan, and the pair met for a meeting at the hotel where the Austrian club were staying.

Meanwhile, Inter faced Salzburg in a friendly during their winter training camp in Malta in December, allowing the two clubs to further strengthen their relationship.
