Inter’s hopes of securing Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram this summer are under threat after he was offered to Barcelona.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the France international has been proposed to Barcelona as a free agent at the end of the season, when his contract at Gladbach expires.

Thuram has made clear his desire to leave the Bundesliga club in June and has been linked with a move to Inter, as well as Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Atletico Madrid.

Whilst the former Guingamp forward would be extremely keen on a move to the Camp Nou, Barcelona could face difficulties in securing him due to Financial Fair Play restrictions.

This could open the door for Inter to swoop for the 25-year-old and reach an agreement to bring him in ahead of next season.

Thuram has scored 14 goals in 22 appearances for Gladbach this season after being moved forward into a more attacking role.
