Inter coach Simone Inzaghi refused to find excuses after witnessing his team fall to a 1-0 defeat to Bologna in Serie A earlier today.

The Nerazzurri were far from their best as they lost at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, with a second half strike from Riccaro Orsolini settling the encounter.

Speaking to the club’s inhouse television channel, Inter TV, after the final whistle, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, Inzaghi congratulated Bologna on their win but was not happy with the way that his side conceded and fell to the defeat.

“Clearly it is a defeat that does not satisfy us. The first half was insufficient, better in the second where we took the initiative on the pitch and created something,” the 46-year-old stated.

“Then we conceded a goal that we must never allow to happen. We must improve away from home where the results do not satisfy us.

“We must not look for excuses because everyone has injuries and tight fixture lists.”

Inter had enjoyed a positive month prior to the loss to Bologna, with only Empoli getting the better of them, but Inzaghi lamented a lack of consistency from his team and admitted that he needed to help them bounce back.

“The focus must be on this match, with a result that disappoints us. We faced an opponent in great shape and everyone had to do more, me first of all being the coach.

“Now we have to analyse what went wrong today and immediately focus on the next matches in order to restart in the best possible way. We alternate very positive moments with negative ones and this must not happen during the season,” he concluded.

Former Lazio coach Inzaghi took the helm in the summer of 2021 and guided Inter to the Coppa Italia last season.
