Amidst reports that Inter President Steven Zhang has a plan to build a new stadium without AC Milan, Italian journalist Giovanni Capuano believes the biggest story is communication with the Rossoneri.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Zhang has a Plan B to build a new ground solely for Inter at an undisclosed location, after suggestions that Milan were ready to abandon their shared project and move ahead by themselves.

Taking to Twitter, Capuano argued that whilst reports of Inter being prepared to build their own ground should the new San Siro project fail to take off, the real story was that Zhang had been communicating with Milan director Gordon Singer.

The Rossoneri director is reported to have given the impression of being committed to building the ground at the site of the current Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, contradicting the intentions of Milan President Gerry Cardinale.

“The real ‘torpedo’ of the Gazzetta article on the new Inter stadium is not that Inter have a plan B ready too, but that Zhang is talking to Gordon Singer who says things that are apparently different from the ideas of Cardinale . That is, of the owners of Milan,” Cardinale tweeted.

Inter appear keen to remain at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and build a new stadium in the vicinity.
