Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is not feeling that his squad have let him down in yesterday afternoon’s poor 1-0 Serie A loss to Bologna.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the coach is taking full responsibility for failing to get the team to produce anything resembling the necessary performance on a rainy afternoon in Emili-Romagna.
Inter put in easily one of their most turgid displays of the season against Bologna, fully deserving to lose the match to the Rossoblu.
There were many subpar individual displays all over the pitch, but according to the Corriere, the coach does not feel that it is his players who should be in the firing line after the defeat.
The newspaper note that Inzaghi made a very clear “mea culpa” in his remarks to the media after the match, and report that he is taking responsibility behind the scenes as well.
According to the Corriere, Inzaghi has no belief that the locker room has gone against him or let him down, and feels that he is the first person to blame when the team plays as poorly as it did yesterday afternoon.
