Both in midfield and in attack, Inter looked nothing like the team they can be at their best as they fell to a shock loss to Bologna in Serie A yesterday evening.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who argue that the midfield trio and the strikers all looked woefully ineffective for the entire match against the Rossoblu.
The starting trio of Marcelo Brozovic, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all had plenty of experience and quality which had been shown in many occasions this season prior to yesterday evening’s match.
However, on the night all three looked like passengers for long spells, as it was instead Bologna’s Nicolas Domingeuz, Lewis Ferguson, and Jerdy Schouten who put their stamp on proceedings.
Meanwhile, Tuttosport note, strikers Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku got little joy out of the Rossoblu backline, whilst Edin Dzeko hardly fared better upon replacing Lukaku.
