Milan Mayor Beppe Sala is planning to meet with Inter and AC Milan tomorrow to get the lay of the land regarding the new stadium plans for the city.
Speaking to reporters at a Municipality event, as reported by FCInterNews, the Milan Mayor explained that he is not currently sure what the Nerazzurri’s intentions would be, and that he aims to speak to both clubs tomorrow.
A potential new twist has emerged in the story of Inter and Milan’s attempts to build a new stadium, as the Rossoneri are reportedly now ready to go it alone and build in a different area.
This comes after protracted delays which have left both clubs frustrated with the lack of a go-ahead to begin construction, but evidently Milan more than their city rivals.
Sala will look to see what page both clubs are on in the matter in a meeting tomorrow, the Mayor has said.
“I called the clubs and asked that they come meet with me tomorrow morning,” Sala said, “because sometimes even I’m left in the dark and left reading all of the information in the press.”
“While it’s clear to me that Milan are looking at the Hippodrome area with interest at this point, I’m yet to understand what Inter’s intentions are,” he continue.
“So tomorrow morning they will meet with me and we’ll clarify things together.”
