Inter CEO Beppe Marotta confirmed with his words yesterday that the future of Simone Inzaghi as Nerazzurri coach is not in serious doubt, but the results on the pitch over the next few months will still be decisive.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report on the delicate balance of Inzaghi’s situation at the Nerazzurri.
Marotta made a clear declaration of faith in Inzaghi for the future in his remarks to the media yesterday, as he has always done with the coach whose contract was only extended last summer.
The CEO praised the 46-year-old’s professionalism, abilities, and suitability for the club’s goals, although he did also stress that something has to change in terms of motivation and consistency.
According to the Gazzetta, nothing that has happened so far this season has shaken Marotta and Inter’s faith in going forward with Inzaghi.
However, with the team absolutely needing to clinch a top four spot in Serie A over the next three months, as well as having the Coppa Italia and Champions League to play for, results over the remainder of the season will be decisive for the decision made at the end of the campaign.
