Inter’s directors want to statements of striker Lautaro Martinez from the aftermath of Sunday’s shock Serie A loss away to Bologna to be an example for the team as a whole.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri’s directors focused on the Argentine’s words as they met with the team and then coach today.

Martinez did not hold back as he expressed his feelings following Sunday’s defeat at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

The 25-year-old stressed that the way the team played against the Rossoblu was no way to achieve anything this season, and that now a lot of hard work is needed.

The Nerazzurri directors met with the squad and then with coach Simone Inzaghi and his staff this afternoon, and a key theme of their talks have been to take those words by Martinez to heart in order to make sure they quickly rebound from Sunday’s painful result.
