Inter could have trouble extending the loan move of Romelu Lukaku in the event that the team miss out on Champions League football next season.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri would likely struggle with the finances of another loan move for the 29-year-old without the guaranteed revenues from Champions League football.

Inter will have to sit down with Chelsea and negotiate a new loan deal for Lukaku this summer if they are to bring the Belgian back for next season.

In order to do so, the Nerazzurri will need to have the financial flexibility to offer terms of another paid loan deal to the London-based clubs, whilst there is also the matter of the striker’s wages.

According to Tuttosport, in the event that the team were to miss out on the Champions League next season, it would become very difficult to see them having the money to invest in another loan deal for Lukaku.
