Monza goalkeeper Alessio Cragno has emerged as a real candidate to replace Samir Handanovic as the main backup to Andre Onana in goal at Inter next season.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 28-year-old is a player on the Nerazzurri’s radar as they anticipate a possible departure of Handanovic during the summer transfer window.

Inter are looking increasingly likely to have to replace Handanovic this summer.

Whilst it is not yet certain that the 38-year-old Slovenian will not extend his contract past the end of June, the Nerazzurri want to be prepared for the possibility that they will have to replace him.

It is not overly likely that Andrei Radu, currently on loan at Auxerre, will be brought back in as the deputy to Onana.

According to the Gazzetta, it is looking increasingly possible that Cragno could be the man signed to replace Handanovic, with the Italian currently behind Inter academy graduate Michele Di Gregorio in the pecking order at Monza.
