Former Inter defender Daniele Adani feels that coach Simone Inzaghi is the man who must be blamed for the current gap that the Nerazzurri face in the Serie A table.
Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, via FCInter1908, the former defender argued that the coach must be held responsible for the team’s struggles this season, and named current Belgium national team coach Domenico Tedesco as one candidate to replace him.
If it wouldn’t necessarily be fair or realistic to expect Inter or any other team to completely keep pace with Napoli at the top of the Serie A table this season, the feeling is that the sheer size of the gap from the leaders is too large.
From the point of view of Adani, it is certainly not something acceptable, and the former defender believes that it is the coach Inzaghi who must shoulder the blame for the team’s erratic form which has left them looking a long way up to the Partenopei.
“Inter’s bad matches have been awful, that’s not debatable,” he said.
“Juve’s squad remains the strongest in the league, but now Lukaku and Brozovic are getting back.”
“The match against Bologna seemed like a repeat of other matches they’ve dropped pointed in,” he continued.
“They’re still in the running in the Coppa Italia and the Champions League, but to be eighteen points behind Napoli is inconceivable for a team like Inter, and the blame must be put on the coach.”
Adani also suggested that “Why don’t they take a look at Domenico Tedesco?” when asked about possible alternatives to Inzaghi.
