The Municipality of Assago has firmly denied that there are any talks between them and Inter regarding a possible new stadium to be built by the Nerazzurri.

Posting on their official Facebook page, via L’Interista, the municipality also suggested that the area that the Nerazzurri are actually planning to build in would be Rozzano.

A report from the Gazzetta dello Sport today suggested that Inter are in advanced talks with the Municipality of Assago for that area to be the site for their new stadium if they are to build without AC Milan.

The report even suggested that there are already some signed documents, including a confidentiality agreement.

However, some cold water has been poured on this report, with the Municipality of Rozzano itself firmly denying that there is any truth to these reports and furthermore proposing that the actual location that the Nerazzurri are looking at building in is different.

They posted, “Regarding the uproar aroused by the claims reported in certain newspapers today regarding the construction of the new  stadium by Inter in Assago, we can confirm that to date there there has been no contacts with the administration of the Municipality, and that the area possibly identified for the construction is privately-owned, and is located in the Municipality of Rozzano.”
