Former Inter President Erick Thohir has revealed that he still misses being in charge at the Nerazzurri, although there would be little chance of his returning.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, the former President explained that right now his focus is on other business in Indonesia so he’s not thinking about a return to the Nerazzurri.

Thohir had been the owner and President of Inter after acquiring a controlling interest in the club from former President Massimo Moratti in 2013.

Current owners Suning gradually took over the club, with current President Steven Zhang formally replacing the Indonesian businessman as President, a role which Zhang currently holds.

For his part, Thohir still has fond memories of his time in charge of the Nerazzurri, although this does not mean there is any consideration to try and take over again any time soon.

Asked if he still follows his old club, Thohir replied “Certainly, I saw that we just got an important win over Porto in the Champions League.”

To the question of whether he misses the Nerazzurri, the businessman replied “A lot, Forza Inter forever.”

Regarding whether or not he would be interested in returning, Thohir said that “At the moment I’m not thinking about taking over at Inter, because I’m focused on business here in Indonesia.”

“Moreover, Inter is like a family and in order to really be part of it you have to stay in Milan, whilst I’m focused on matters here in Indonesia,” he continued.

“Now, I keep supporting Inter, but only as a fan,” the former President stated.

Thohir also gave his view on current Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi, stating that “He’s a good coach and I really like his style of play, he’s been doing a great job over the past two seasons.”
