There is still a fair bit of a gap between Inter’s offer of a new contract to defender Alessandro Bastoni and the player’s request.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri have offered the 23-year-old €4.5 million net per season to stay and extend his deal, whilst the player and his representatives are asking for around €6 million net per season.

Inter are pushing to get contract extension talks with Bastoni and his representatives wrapped up before the end of the season.

The defender’s current deal is set to run out at the end of June 2024, and the club would have absolutely no intention of heading into another situation like the one that has seen Milan Skriniar decide to leave on a free transfer at the end of his contract.

However, some work still needs to be done working out terms in negotiations between the Nerazzurri and Bastoni’s representatives.

The former Atalanta and Parma player currently earns around €4 million net per season including add-ons, with his base salary €2.7 million net per season.

According to the Corriere, Inter would be willing to offer €4.5 million net per season plus add-ons, whilst Bastoni and his representatives are seeking €6 million net per season.

The newspaper suggests that the parties could come together on a deal worth €5-5.5 million net per season, including or excluding add-ons.
