Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has never had any doubt regarding his sense of belonging at the Nerazzurri.
Speaking on InterTV’s “Footsteps” series, via FCInterNews, the 25-year-old looked back on when he first came to the club, nothing that everyone at the club and the fans have always made him felt appreciated.
Martinez joined Inter as a highly-rated young striker from Racing Club in the summer of 2018, but the Argentine still had a fair bit of growing to do.
Now, nearly five years later, Martinez has become a key man at the heart of this Inter team, whilst he has been a player tipped by many to be the future captain of the team.
Even though the Argentine had to adjust to the team initially and didn’t start out in such a central role, the 25-year-old feels that he was loved from the very beginning.
“Inter gave me so much love right from day one,” Martinez looked back, “I arrived at a great team, with many top players.”
“The fans also made me feel loved from my first day, it was incredible,” he continued.
“They’ve always respected me and I’ve always tried to repay them by giving everything on the pitch.”
