AC Milan are in a hurry to get started on building a new stadium, and the idea of building in place of the San Siro with Inter is all but dead in the water.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the plans between the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri are fading fast as the latter consider other opportunities.
Milan’s priority now appears to be to build in the La Maura area of San Siro, adjacent to the existing stadium.
The Rossoneri are also considering other possibilities in case this plan does not pan out over the next few weeks, but their main alternatives would be to move plans to an area outside the city of Milan.
The idea of building a new stadium jointly with Inter and in place of the San Siro, which has been what the clubs have been working towards for the past several years, does remain a possible option in the minds of the Rossoneri.
However, this idea is very much on the backburner behind several other possibilities, as Milan have lost patience and don’t want to waste any more time.
