Inter could look to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Emre Can if they are to miss out on Barcelona’s Franck Kessie or Valencia’s Yunus Musah.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 29-year-old German international is on the Nerazzurri’s radar to reinforce their midfield during the summer transfer window.

If Marcelo Brozovic were to leave Inter during the summer transfer window, then the club would look to sign a new midfielder to replace the Croat.

However, the target would not be a like-for-like positional replacement for the 30-year-old, as the likes of Hakan Calhanoglu and Kristjan Asllani are already in the squad in the deep-lying playmaker role.

Rather, a more physical meazzala would be the target.

In this sense, Barcelona’s Kessie and Valencia’s Musah would be two of the main targets, but signing either could prove to be tough.

As an alternative, Inter have lined up former Juventus, Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen, and Bayern Munich midfielder Can, whose contract with Dortmund runs out at the end of June 2024.
