Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie is keen on making the switch to Inter during the summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Ivorian former AC Milan midfielder wants to make the return to Serie A to play for the Nerazzurri, and that a deal could well be worked out with Barcelona.

According to the Gazzetta, there are more than rumours behind reports that Kessie genuinely wants to make the return to the Italian top flight to play for Inter.

The newspaper reports that the 26-year-old continues to speak with his former Rossoneri teammate Hakan Calhanoglu, currently a key player for the Nerazzurri, and has made his desire apparent.

According to the Gazzetta, Inter are hoping that Kessie’s desire to make the move can be decisive in pushing through a deal, as they have considered the midfielder a top target all the way back to his time as an Atalanta player.

Kessie’s €6.5 million net per season wages would be tough for Inter to accommodate, particularly given that they would not be covered by the Growth Decree tax benefits.

However, the Ivorian could accept lower wages in order to make the move to Inter this summer.

Moreover, the Gazzetta reports that Inter would look to get a deal done with Barcelona in terms of an initial loan move, containing a purchase option.

The Nerazzurri would not want the price tag on an eventual permanent sale of Kessie to exceed €30 million, according to the Gazzetta.
