The agent of Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has made clear that, whilst the 29-year-old is very happy at the Nerazzurri, there is no hurry to wrap up contract talks.
Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the Turk’s agent Gordon Stipic explained that the contract talks with Inter are set to continue this month as the parties seek to find agreement on a new deal.
Reports in recent weeks have suggested that Calhanoglu is not too far away from committing his future to Inter by penning a new deal with the club.
An interview with the player published in yesterday’s print edition of the Gazzetta dello Sport also saw the former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen speak of his happiness at the club and the pride he feels in being offered a new deal.
However, Calhanoglu’s agent has made clear that there is no actual agreement yet, and some way to go in talks over the coming weeks.
“We’re om talks, we haven’t set a deadline but I have to be honest and say there’s no rush,” Stipic said.
“There will be more meetings, but no hurry, Calha is happy, he’s happy with how he plays and how he feels at Inter.”
“He’s feeling good, he has an important role in the team and he’s happy there,” the agent continued.
“We will continue to meet in March, there will be more talks then,” Stipic said of the negotiations with Inter.
