Inter President Steven Zhang gave a clear message to the squad about what is expected over the next few matches as he attended yesterday’s training session.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that while there was no direct face-to-face with the players, the President’s presence was an indication of the seriousness of the coming weeks.

Considering that Inter fell to a shock defeat against Bologna last weekend which was only the latest in a series of unexpected setbacks in Serie A, the next few matches in the league will be of vital importance for the Nerazzurri.

Starting with tomorrow evening’s match against Lecce, Inter must bounce back immediately in order to ensure that they do not suddenly finding themselves behind the eight ball in the race for top four in the league table.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri play one of the most important matches of their season in the form of the second leg of their Champions League round of sixteen tie against Porto later this month.

Zhang attended yesterday’s training session in order to send a message to the squad regarding the significance of the next few matches, as there is no more margin for error in the team’s run-in for the season.
