Italian journalist Paolo Condo feels that wingbacks Robin Gosens and Denzel Dumfries can give Inter something extra over the remaining matches of the season.

Writing in his column in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews, Condo suggested that the two wide players could give a new dimension to the Nerazzurri’s play just as they are searching for something extra.

Neither Gosens nor Dumfries have been among Inter’s outstanding players this season, with both of the pair in and out of the lineup and frequently behind Federico Dimarco and Matteo Darmian in the pecking order.

However, both undeniably have the quality to decide matches when they’re on form.

The pair started on the flanks against Lecce yesterday evening, and they both proved their worth in the end, Gosens with a solid two-way display on the left side and Dumfries with a timely assist from the right-hand side.

“Yesterday Inzaghi got a big contribution out of Gosens, and then also after Dumfries after some initial wobbles,” Condo writes.

“The contribution of the backup wingbacks, the more attacking ones, could be a big extra boost to the team over the final run-in of the season,” he adds.
