Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and wingback Robin Gosens have been praised for their effective displays to help the Nerazzurri to a 2-0 win over Lecce yesterday evening.
The pair were singled out as two of the team’s key players in the player ratings for the match published in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Mkhitaryan made yet another starting appearance on the left of the midfield trio, and for the Corriere the Armenian former Roma and Arsenal player proved to be the Nerazzurri’s “extra man” in the midfield battle.
The 34-year-old showed no signs of fatigue as he darted around making sure that Inter did not get overrun centrally, whilst it was his well-taken goal from outside the penalty area that broke the deadlock.
Meanwhile, Gosens made his second consecutive start in the league, the first time that this has happened for the German at Inter, and he did not disappoint with an energetic and composed performance down his left flank.
