Inter wingback Robin Gosens could be aiming to have a breakout second season at the Nerazzurri in a similar trajectory to Christian Eriksen’s time at the club.

This is suggested by Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInter1908, who note that the German’s recent run of good performances comes around the same time in his spell at the club as Eriksen’s did.

Gosens’s strong performances over his past couple starts for Inter have been enough to suggest that the 28-year-old may finally be finding his feet.

The German arrived from Atalanta in January of last year, but never really showed the kind of form that he did at his prior club, which had been what convinced the Nerazzurri to sign him, but this may well be changing.

Eriksen, too, had arrived at Inter during a January transfer window, signed from Tottenham Hotspur in January of 2020.

The Dane, like Gosens, did not really impress over his first few months playing for the Nerazzurri.

However, it was a run of matches during the winter of 2021 which really saw the now-Manchester United player really settle in and find his feet in the starting eleven, something that Gosens could aim to repeat.
