The head of Inter’s youth academy Roberto Samaden is set to take up a role in the Italian FA when he steps down from his role at the Nerazzurri at the end of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that Samaden will play a key role in refreshing the Azzurri’s setup to focus around youth.

Samaden has informed Inter that he intends to step down from his role as head of the youth academy at the end of the season, ending a 33-year association with the Nerazzurri.

There has been some speculation regarding what Samaden’s next move will be, but according to Tuttosport he is likely to turn his attention to the national team.

Given that Italy missed out on the World Cup last year, the feeling is that the national team setup is in need of a refresh based around younger players, and so Samaden’s experience is set to play a role in this change of direction for the Azzurri.
