Former Inter, Napoli, and Torino defender Mauro Milanese feels that Simone Inzaghi would still be the right man for the Nerazzurri’s bench.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the 51-year-old placed his trust in the former Lazio coach even though rumours about his future at the club have been swirling.

Inter’s swings in form this season have meant that doubts about Inzaghi’s future at the club have never been too far away from the surface.

The coach has certainly had some positive aspects to his spell in charge, but at the same time, the negative ones have been glaring at times this season.

Accordingly, the question of whether the Nerazzurri should stick with the 46-year-old or whether they would be better off looking for a new coach has been widely discussed.

Former Nerazzurri defender Milanese weighed in, giving words of support to the current Nerazzurri coach despite the criticisms.

“There’s been a lot of talk, but I’d still trust him as coach for next season,” he said.
