The management of Marcelo Brozovic’s injuries before and after the World Cup break has been a big part of the reason for the midfielder’s worsening relationship with Inter.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri were left frustrated by the 30-year-old working with fitness expert Andreja Milutinovic, and that this is part of why he is now likely to leave in the summer.
Injuries have been an overarching theme in Brozovic’s season, as the Croat had a thigh problem that ruled him out for virtually all of the team’s matches between the September international break and the winter break, and then has only recently come back from a calf injury.
In the meantime, the Nerazzurri midfielder was an everpresent for the Croatian national team at the World Cup.
The way that the situation has handled has been a source of frustration for Inter, whilst the lengthy absences have also seen Brozovic drop down in the pecking order with Henrikh Mkhitaryan now part of the midfield trio.
For this reason, the Gazzetta suggests, it now looks as though Brozovic will move on in the summer transfer window.
