Inter’s away record in Serie A has been a massive problem for them this season, with the team winning less than half of their league fixtures away from the San Siro and shipping an average of almost two goals per match on their travels.
This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who suggest that this inability to produce the same performances away from home as those at the San Siro has been the Nerazzurri’s principal issue.
At the San Siro, Inter’s defense has been quite formidable in Serie A, conceding an average of just 0.47 goals per match.
In away fixtures, by contrast, the Nerazzurri have conceded at a rate of 1.8 goals per match in the league, certainly a worrying trend to have gone on over the course of the entire season.
Meanwhile, the win percentage in the league is 84% for Inter at the San Siro, who rarely fail to send their fans home happy.
However, on their travels, this drops to a quite dismal 40%, which means that it is not hard to see why the Nerazzurri have fallen so far behind Napoli in the Serie A title race.
