Inter’s faith that midfielder Kristjan Asllani will be a player to build the midfield around in the future has not wavered, even if the player is on the margin of plans currently.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 20-year-old’s relatively scant appearances particularly in recent weeks are not an indication of the club having lost any faith in him.

Asllani has found playing time harder to come by than ever over Inter’s past few matches.

The Albanian has not gotten on the pitch in the Nerazzurri’s past five outings across all competitions, with Roberto Gagliardini having been preferred as a substitute in the second half of Sunday’s Serie A win over Lecce.

However, the plan remains exactly the same as it’s always been since Asllani was signed from Empoli last summer.

The young midfielder may be a player used sparingly in his first season or two at Inter, but the club fully back him to become a starting-quality player moving forward.
