Inter striker Lautaro Martinez could be given a rest during his team’s Serie A match away to Spezia on Friday evening.
This according to Italian news outlet Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi could decide to make some significant squad rotations in view of next week’s Champions League match against Porto, including starting Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko ahead of Martinez.
Given the massive significance of next Tuesday’s Champions League round of sixteen second leg against Porto, Inzaghi will be wary of his squad expending too much energy in Friday’s match against Spezia.
Accordingly, Tuttosport, there could be some rotations to the team, with Martinez dropping to the bench the most eye-catching possibility.
Meanwhile, Tuttosport report, Danilo D’Ambrosio could play on the right of the back three in the absent of the injured Milan Skriniar, with Matteo Darmian then moving to right-wingback and Denzel Dumfries then dropping to the bench.
