Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin believes that Ivan Perisic’s departure from Inter at the end of last season has seen both parties lose out on a lot.

Tweeting after the Croat and his Tottenham Hotspur teammate were eliminated from the Champions League at the hands of AC Milan, Biasin gave his thoughts on the experience of both the player and club this season following his leaving.

Perisic was one of Inter’s outstanding players last season, if not their single most impressive performer.

The 34-year-old made the decision not to accept the offer of a contract extension, and when his deal expired at the end of last June, he went off to the Premier League in search of a new challenge.

Things have not exactly gone well for Perisic in London, with the English team out of all knockout competitions and facing a real scrap to try and reach top four in the league table.

Meanwhile, Inter have lacked some of the inspiration that Perisic gave them last season, perhaps part of the reason why they have fallen so far behind Napoli in the league title race.

Biasin tweeted that “Inter have lost a lot with Perisic leaving, and Perisic has perhaps lost even more without Inter.”
