Inter may not have reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League from their two-legged tie against Liverpool last season, but they did get a confidence-boosting win in the second leg at Anfield.
Amid an imposing atmosphere against the Reds’ home fans, the Nerazzurri kept a clean sheet, whilst it was striker Lautaro Martinez who managed to score the match’s only goal.
The Argentine picked up the ball on the corner of the penalty area, and his curling effort was far too difficult for Liverpool keeper Alisson to keep out of the back of the net.
