Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to be rested in the Nerazzurri’s Serie A match away to Spezia this evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that it will be Marcelo Brozovic, Nicolo Barella, and Hakan Calhanoglu who form the midfield trio from the start in the Nerazzurri’s away trip to Liguria.

Mkhitaryan has been everpresent in Inter’s midfield since the team;s return from the winter break.

However, the return of Marcelo Brozovic from injury and the Croat’s growth in form has meant that there is a little more room for coach Simone Inzaghi to rotate in central areas.

According to the Gazzetta, Mkhitaryan will be rested this evening, with the former Roma and Arsenal man potentially having his fitness saved in view of next week’s Champions League clash with Porto.

The Gazzetta’s complete predicted eleven is as follows:

Inter (3-5-2): Onana; Darmian, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Gosens; Lukaku, Lautaro
