Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is expecting that he and his teammates will certainly have no lack of motivation for their Champions League match against Porto tomorrow evening.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia ahead of the round of sixteen second leg clash, via FCInterNews, the 29-year-old stressed that the Nerazzurri are in an intense mood as they get ready to fight for a place in the quarterfinals of Europe’s top club competition.
Inter go into tomorrow’s match with a slender 1-0 advantage over Porto, but they will be fully aware of how quickly that could evaporate.
Playing away at the Estadio do Dragao will add a further layer of difficulty to what would already have been a tough match, and it will require not just quality and concentration from the Nerazzurri, but also intensity and resolve.
For Calhanoglu’s part, however, the former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen man has no doubts about how the team will approach tomorrow’s match.
“We know what’s awaiting us tomorrow,” the 29-year-old said, “we’re coming up against a strong team who have a lot of quality players.”
“We’ve made it this far in Europe, though, and as always we want to play our game.”
“The team has looked good to me after the Spezia match, and we can’t wait,” Calhanoglu said.
“It will be a different match from the first leg, we’re charged up,” the Turk emphasized. “We want to reach the quarterfinals.”
