Inter could see a big impact on how the summer transfer window unfolds for them based on whether or not they are to reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the €20 million in prize money that is essentially up for grabs against Porto tomorrow will be a big factor in the Nerazzurri’s summer plans.

Whilst it is clear that Inter will have financial goals to meet in the summer transfer window once again as in the past two summers, what is not entirely clear yet is just what those goals will be.

Any revenue that arrives from sources other than the transfer market would have the effect of lowering the amount of money that needs to be brought in in the form of a net transfer profit.

Accordingly, given that the club would stand to earn around €20 million from participation in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, the outcome of tomorrow’s match against Porto will likely have ramifications in terms of the incomings and outgoings in the summer.
