Juventus captain Leonardo Bonucci’s fitness for next weekend’s Serie A match against Inter is in doubt after the defender suffered a knock during the first half of the Bianconeri’s win over Sampdoria yesterday evening.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that more should be known following medical tests, but that the 35-year-old’s availability for his team’s last two matches before the international break, against Feriburg and Inter, is up in the air at the moment.

Bonucci was substitute at halftime during Juventus’s 4-2 win over Sampdoria in Turin yesterday evening.

The sense is that the injury was not a serious one, but given that the Bianconeri face Freiburg away in the Europa League later this week and then travel to Milan to face Inter on Sunday, there would not be much time for him to recover.

Accordingly, the 35-year-old’s availability will be determined based on medical tests, but there wouldn’t be much time.
