Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana feels that this evening’s Champions League round of sixteen second leg away to Porto will be the most important match of the Nerazzurri’s season.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, the 26-year-old also made clear that he is not feeling any nerves or fear ahead of the match despite its obvious significance and difficulty.

Inter have the chance the reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League if they can keep hold of their first-leg advantage over Porto, which would be nothing less than a massive achievement in the context of their season.

On the other hand, if the team are to fail to reach the next round from the position that they’re in, the disappointment will certainly be massive.

From the perspective of goalkeeper Onana, there is no doubt that it will be the biggest match of Inter’s season, but the Cameroonian is not intimidated by it.

Asked if he thinks that this is the most important match of Inter’s season, the keeper replied, “In my opinion, yes.”

“We’ve worked hard to get to today.”

“I’m ready, the whole team is ready,” he added.

Asked if he feels any fear ahead of the match, Onana simply replied that “Andre is never scared.”

“I don’t think that the atmosphere at this stadium will be any more intense than at San Siro,” he added.

“We have a huge responsibility, but this team has players who have already been at this stage, including myself,” the 26-year-old former Ajax keeper added.

“We need character, I’m calm, if we play the right way then we’ll get through to the next round.”
