Inter held a meeting with an intermediary regarding a possible move for Club Brugge wingback Tajon Buchanan earlier this month.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that Nerazzurri Sporting Director Piero Ausilio met with intermediary Gabriele Giuffrida in Milan on March 3, with the 24-year-old Canadian international the main topic of their meeting.

Buchanan is reportedly lined up as one of Inter’s main targets to replace Denzel Dumfries in the event that the Dutchman is to be sold during the summer transfer window.

According to Calciomercato, the Canadian is indeed high on the Nerazzurri’s list of prospective Dumfries replacements on the right flank, and they have been taking concrete steps towards a potential move for his signature.

Buchanan, who made the move to Brugge during the 2021-22 season, has been impressing during his time in European football so far, including in the Champions League.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri are reported to have scouted the 24-year-old whilst he played for the Canadian national team at the World Cup in Qatar.

According to Calciomercato, he is seen as having the ideal attributes to replace Dumfries.
