Inter striker Edin Dzeko is getting close to a total of thirty goals scored in the Champions League as the Nerazzurri head into their Champions League round of sixteen second leg match against Porto this evening.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who note that the Bosnian sits on 28 at this point, and that he could even target thirty before the end of this season.

If Dzeko is to reach thirty goals in Europe’s top competition, he would equal the total of such former greats as Paco Gento, Ryan Giggs, Steven Gerrard, Kaka, and Patrick Kluivert.

The 36-year-old will therefore have even greater motivation to try and find the back of the net in this evening’s match against Porto.

Moreover, if the Nerazzurri are to reach the quarterfinals, this would be at least two more matches in which to find a goal or two to hit thirty for Dzeko.
