Inter should think long and hard before they make any rash decision regarding the future of coach Simone Inzaghi in the view of Italian media.

This is the argument in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who suggest that the bigger picture is that the 46-year-old is well-tested in Serie A and the Champions League regardless of one or two wobbles in form.

Looking at the last few weeks worth of matches, it is little surprise that the criticisms and doubts have emerged surrounding Inzaghi as Inter coach.

Losses like those against Bologna and Spezia are always going to raise the alarms at Inter.

However, the Corriere notes, Inzaghi is now in the Champions League round of sixteen for the third season running, having reached this stage with Lazio and Inter in the previous two season.

The only three other coaches to have managed this have been Pep Guardiola, Juergen Klopp, and Julian Naglesmann.

Moreover, whilst Inter have been bitterly disappointed by a failure to win the Serie A title last season and being far behind Napoli this time around, the form that they have shown in the league is still nothing to be taken for granted.

In the view of the Corriere, honing in on moments of bad form makes Inzaghi looks worse than he is, but the bigger picture shows that the 46-year-old coach should still have the full faith of his club.
