Inter defender Milan Skriniar has been called up for the Slovakian national team in their two EURO 2024 qualifiers to be played during the upcoming March international break.

This is confirmed by an announcement from the Slovakian FA, as reported by FCInterNews, which includes the 28-year-old, who is the captain of his national side, in the squad list for the two matches against Luxembourg and then Bosnia and Herzgovina.

Skriniar became the captain of the Slovakian national team last summer, elected by the squad to take the place of legendary former Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik who made his retirement from international football.

As such, there is little surprise that the former Sampdoria defender will be part of the national team’s squad as they begin the process of trying to qualify for the upcoming Euros.

Slovakia had reached the round of sixteen in the 2016 edition of the tournament, with Skriniar in the squad, but were not able to get out of the group stage in the most recent edition.
