There is still a chance that defender Milan Skriniar and striker Romelu Lukaku could start for Inter in this evening’s Champions League match against Porto.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi’s main selection doubts for the match concern defense and attack, and that both of the duo could be in the starting eleven.

In defense, much will depend on the fitness of Skriniar.

Given that the 28-year-old has missed the Nerazzurri’s past three Serie A matches with a back injury, the sense is that even if he is fully recovered from the injury, he may not be match-fit.

However, Inzaghi’s decision will likely go down to the last minute, and if the coach feels that Skriniar is ready he likely wouldn’t hesitate to start the former Sampdoria defender rather than Matteo Darmian on the right of the back three.

Meanwhile, in attack there is no doubt that Lautaro Martinez will be one of the two starters, bu Inzaghi has yet to make up his mind on the Argentine’s partner.

Edin Dzeko has been the favourite ahead of Lukaku, but if the coach sees the Belgian at his best in training, he could decide to hand him the start alongside Martinez.
