Juventus head coach Max Allegri expects that winger Angel Di Maria will be available for the Bianconeri in Sunday evening’s Serie A match against Juventus.

Speaking in a press conference following his team’s Europa League win over Freiburg, as reported by FCInterNews, the coach explained that he did not risk the 35-year-old in the match against the German side but that he will be available for selection against the Nerazzurri.

Di Maria had been one of the slight fitness doubts for Juventus heading into this weekend’s Serie A match away to Inter.

However, according to Bianconeri coach Allegri, the World Cup winner will be fit for the match.

Di Maria has been a consistently important player for Juventus throughout the current season, and so Bianconeri fans will be breathing a sigh of relief that he will be at Allegri’s disposal for the Derby d’Italia match at the San Siro.

Asked why the Argentine did not appear against Freiburg, the coach explained that “We were playing eleven against ten, so I preferred not to risk him.”

“There was no need for him, but now he’ll have three more days to prepare, so he’ll definitely be available against Inter,” he added.
