Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi’s future in his role still very much hangs in the balance despite the fact that he has guided the team to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that little has actually changed regarding the 46-year-old’s situation after progressing from the round of sixteen against Porto.

Inter will still have to make a decision regarding Inzaghi’s future at the end of the season, and according to the Gazzetta, that decision is always set to be based around the Nerazzurri’s performance in the league.

Champions League qualification via finishing in the top four of the Serie A table remains the bare minimum as it has always done.

In this respect, the Gazzetta reports, Inzaghi has done little to change how the club will actually assess his future.

The coach will be expected to deliver results over the remainder of the season in Serie A, and this will be the real basis of the club’s decision on his future.
