Ex-Inter Milan Forward Antonio Cassano: “Inzaghi Says He’s Written A Piece Of History, But They Didn’t Deserve To Scrape Through Vs Porto”

Legendary former Inter, Roma, Real Madrid, and Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano feels that the claims that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi made of having written a piece of the club’s history are outlandish.
Speaking on his Instagram story, via FCInter1908, the former forward criticized the coach for the results that he has gotten this season, and for what he views as inappropriate remarks after the team qualified for the Champions League quarterfinals against Porto.
From Cassano’s perspective, the results and performances at Inter have not been good enough this season regardless of the fact that the Nerazzurri have managed to find themselves in the last eight of the Champions League.
The former forward feels that there has been more than a little bit of good fortune underlying the Nerazzurri getting as far as they have done in Europe.
Cassano has never been shy to express his opinions on Inter, which in the case of the current coach have been quite critical, and for his part he is not impressed by the coach’s words after the match away to Porto earlier this week.
Regarding the qualification for the Champions League quarterfinals, Cassano said that “As an Interista I say, sure, ok, great.”
“But the football sucked, over two legs Porto would have deserved to go on.”
“I hear Inzaghi saying that he’s ‘written a piece of history,’ but then I see that the team are also eighteen points behind Napoli in the league, and they threw away the title last season, and I think it’s just ridiculous,” he added.
