Inter-linked Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard feels that he’ll make a decision on whether to sign an extension to his contract with the German champions after the end of this season.

Speaking to Podcast Bayern-Insider, via FCInterNews, the 26-year-old noted that he’s in no hurry to make a decision on his future, and that he’ll discuss the prospect of signing a new deal with Bayern during the summer transfer window.

Reports have suggested that Inter have made Pavard one of their primary targets to replace Milan Skriniar in defense ahead of next season.

The Frenchman had already been targeted during the January transfer window but instead stayed at Bayern.

Potentially crucial to the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of Pavard is the fact that his current contract runs out at the end of June 2024.

If the defender declines the Bavarians’ offer of a new deal then he could be available for a knockdown fee during the summer should they not want to lost him on a free transfer the following summer.

On the other hand, if Pavard is to extend his deal with Bayern then there would be no chance for the Nerazzurri to sign him.

The player himself stated that “Right now I’m focused on my performances on the pitch and winning as many titles as possible,” when asked about his contract situation.

“After that we’ll have time to discuss my future in the summer,” he added.
