SPAL Academy Manager Andrea Catellani is now the favourite to replace Roberto Samaden as the head of Inter’s youth academy starting next season.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the 34-year-old has already held a meeting with the Nerazzurri regarding the possibility following Samaden when the latter steps down from his position at the end of the current season.

According to FCInter1908, Catellani has moved ahead of the likes of Angelo Castellazzi in the running to replace Samaden, as the latter is set to stay at Paris Saint-Germain where he will continue to work with the Parisians’ women’s team.

Meanwhile, Siena Sporting Director Massimo Tarantino is also in the running as a candidate, although currently only in the background according the FCInter1908.

Catellani, who has also worked at Chievo Verona in the past, is now the main candidate to take over from Samaden at the end of the season.

According to FCInter1908, a meeting has already taken place between the 34-year-old and Inter in Porto.
